Jim, I just wanted to thank you for introducing me to the wonders of Steelhead fishing. Who ever knew that catching those things would be so much fun. I especially liked the part when we were the only ones catching anything and all the other boats / guides kept watching us just wishing they had a guide like you. You have raised the bar for my fishing trips, now I will feel disapointed if I don't catch 10-12 Steelheads. As if catching a ton of fish wasn't enough your shore lunch blew my mind. I never would of expected the marinated steak, roasted tomato, and apple with carmel sauce. This was more than just lunch it was a meal. Actually it was the best meal I had while I was there. Jim is an AWSOME fishing guide.He knows exactly where the fish are, when they bite, and how to catch them. He must be a genius! But no magic, there is a reason. Growing up in Muskegon on the shores of the muskegon river and Lake Michigan, Jim has been catching Steehead, Salmon, Bass, Trout and Walleye for over twenty Five years. The thing by which I am most impressed is his efficiency in fishing. He keeps fishing gear always ready for his customers to catch a fish when it bites. He ties his flies himself, which makes a huge difference in the productivity of fishing. Thanks to Jim, I hooked 20 Steelhead and landed 10 in a one day trip including a 12lbs Male Steelhead and an 11lbs gleaming silver hen. In addition, Jim is an entertainer and a great cook. You cannot think of anything more to ask a fishing guide for than he has natural gifts and he shows for his customers. You are a very patient teacher. The shore lunch was incredible and an unexpected treat. Your world famous baked beans are unbelievable, not to be missed. You went way beyond my expectations in creating a most memorable experience for this father and his teenage son. Jim, Living in Montana we have some great trout fishing, However my trip to Michigan Steelhead fishing with you was truely amazing! What a powerful fish, not to mention the fact that we caught 19 in one day. I also have never had a steak like that for shore lunch. Thanks for the great time and I can't wait to come back. Jim, Thanks for a GREAT DAY. Just going fishing. My uncle Steve and I both enjoyed it tremendously. I caught my biggest Steelhead ever. Your hospitality and instruction were first class. In Arizona, the closest experience would be fishing big rainbows on the Colorado River above Lee's Ferry. Fishing the Muskegon River was the best. Phil Larriva & Steve Fritz.
