Well the Salmon on the Muskegon River are all but done. We are now full swing into the Fall Steelhead run that comes to the Muskegon River in Western Michigan every year. Thus far the Steelhead fishing has been really good. With the recent rains came a real good push of water into the Muskegon River basin and the numbers of fresh Steelhead are increasing daily. We have been targeting these chrome beautys with Flies, Salmon roe, pulling plugs . The center Pin has been really producing well. If you have never done this or tried this technique, we will teach you as well as provide you with all the equipment. For those who are worried about the weather, this year we will be adding a new feature to our boats. We will be adding totally enclosed canopys for your comfort and warmth.

Well the Steelhead are now showing themselves daily as are the trophey resident Rainbow Trout. We love to see native Rainbows in the 24 inch class, thats just awesome. John caught his first Rainbow on a fly rod and it was a beautiful 24 inch stud. We took it fishing behind the spawning Salmon. The Steelhead are in the same places as the Rainbows. John also caught his first Steelhead on the fly this day as well. What a morning. John has fished with us 5 times this fall so far and has just really got hooked on the Mighty Muskegon River and the fishing it has to offer. Salmon are still being taken on the lower river as well on stick baits and spinners. This should continue through the month of October.
John with his first Muskegon River Steelhead on the fly and fly rod. What a day he had.

The Salmon fishing on the Muskegon River is really spectacular right now. We are hooking in excess of a dozen Salmon per day and landing between 6 to 10 of the ones hooked. The fly bite is picking up very nicley now and will only get better. Today we were blessed with 2 Muskegon River Steelhead and that really gets us going as Fall Steelhead fishing in Michigan is our favorite thing to do. We do have dates open for Salmon and we are now booking for fall Steelhead on the Muskegon River. The flies we are using at this time for Salmon are an egg and nymph pattern combo. Steelhead Bugger flies and Oregon Cheese,Steelhead orange and chartruse egg patterns all with a red or blue nuclious.
